Broadband
is coming
ADSL broadband internet is already
available in many parts of the country, and we
are now entering the final stage of getting it in
the Elmswell/Woolpit area served by the Elmswell
telephone exchange.
500 homes and businesses with telephone numbers
commencing 0135924 had pre-registered their
interest in broadband by 24th July 2003. This
meant that the Elmswell exchange had reached BT's
trigger level for broadband enablement.
BT announced on 7th August the Ready for Service
date for the Elmswell exchange: 26th
November 2003.End

Thank you for submitting your pre-registrations
and thus ensuring that we shall get broadband.
There is no longer any need to submit
pre-registrations.
Now that a date has been set for our local
exchange to be broadband-enabled, you can start
to decide on the basis of what the broadband
providers are offering whether to sign up and
with which provider.
Don't forget to check what
contractual commitments you may have with your
present internet provider.
